If you are using the green red and blue ports only then they don't carry sound. Using the red, yellow and white connections the red and white connections carry sound and the yellow one video. With the green red and blue it is all video.

You will need to also connect the red and white cables or if available the optical connection from the xbox.

Hi Scooby

A solution would be to buy a scart adapter, one with the red white and yellow sockets that plug into a scart plug. any decent electrical shop will sell them not too expensive.

That should fix your problem if there are no red white yellow socket on the tv itself. Are there no hidden flaps anywhere, these tv manufactures are buggers for hiding stuff!

You dont really want to do that because you won't get a HD picture via scart. It will only be in standard definition.
The red green and blue phono ports are called 'component' connections. Most HDTVs have the red and white audio inputs right next to the component inputs. It seems strange that yours doesn't as that would mean there is no way to get audio when using component
Your best bet is to buy an HDMI lead like this one.

http://www.amazon.co.uk/1-8M-HDMI-Cable-Gold-Connectors/dp/B0017RW94A/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1256349740&sr=8-1

This will deliver both HD video and audio via one cable.
This assuming that your xbox isn't one of the very early ones that doesn't have an HDMI socket. If you bought it within the last 2 years it should be fine.

Yea i would have mentioned the HD Lead but the question related to the Red White and Yellow Ones!

Also its worth knowing that when you use the component cable, you don't need to plug in the yellow connection as this is a different video connection (called composite).
Most HDTVs will have composite video (yellow) with stereo audio inputs right next to it like this
http://www.dansdata.com/images/flatscreens2/151conns2440.jpg

and also component video inputs (red, green and blue) with red and white audio inputs right next to it like this (the 5 phono sockets to the right of the scart sockets in this picture)
http://www.hdtvtest.co.uk/image/hdtv/Toshiba-37XV505DB/inputs.jpg

Its very strange that your TV has no audio inputs for component. Is there not even what looks like a small headphone socket next to the component input? Very occasionally they have the audio input as a 3.5mm jack instead of red and white phono sockets.

Any chance you could post photos of the rear and side inputs of your TV so we can see whats what?

Sometimes the esaiest things are overlooked.

Have you tried turning the volume up?

If that doesn't work, then I;m afraid thats as technical as I get

Is there no HDMI connector on your Xbox 360 then? If there is I highly recommend using this as it will give the best possible HD picture and sound as well.
If you don't have HDMI output on your 360, then its worth checking the PC input on the TV. Does that have audio input with it? This will most likely look like a headphone socket. If it does then you could use that with an Xbox 360 VGA cable.

Its very odd not to have audio inputs, but this is the risk you take when buying budget electrical items.
