Most of the people who have discussed dog training with me will have heard me say 'we keep it fun' and 'dogs learn better when they're having fun' etc. etc.

Well here's another way making things fun can change behaviour! (posted on the APDT forum by another dog trainer - thought I'd share it with you)

Encouraging people to use bins: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cbEKAwCoCKw

Encouraging people to use stairs instead of the elevator: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2lXh2n0aPyw

Exactly how it works for animals! Make it fun, they're more likely to choose to do it!

They have compactors in the bins at meadowhall. I was facinated! lol. Best bit is when you put the rubbish in the bin says 'Thank You'! lol. Awesome!

What fun! We could do with a bin like that in the local park, it might encourage people not to leave the area round the benches strewn with food wrappers - with a bin only a few feet away!
