Can anyone tell me where I could park (free please) in order to gain easy access to the Five Weirs walk starting from Sheffield?

I think you might be as well to park for free somewhere along the tram route ie. Malin Bridge, Middlewood, Hillsbrough, Meadowhall, etc and catch a tram into town. Get off at Ponds Forge and walk down past Castle Markets onto Blonk Street and the beginning of the 5 Weirs Walk.

I know you posted that you want to park at the town end of the walk. Is there a reason for this?

The reason I ask is because when I last did it I parked near Meadowhall, just past Forgemasters, and entered the walk at the bridge by the pub (with the fig tree) near the railway bridge (on-road parking near the stonemasonry business).

When I got to town I walked back along the canal.

A very pleasant round walk indeed.

I think I'll either not take the car at all or as suggested park out of town and utilise the tram if necessary.
