Hi
I don't know if anyone could give me their thoughts?
I am currently setting my own wedding planning business and just pricing out my services. I have 10 services all acorss a range of prices and budgets.
The last one is the traditional full wedding co-ordination package, my reserach has shown that other wedding planners charge a percentage of the final wedding budget for this, either 10% or 15% BUT I'm not sure if this is the way to go?
I don't know if charging a % of the final budget is appealing or not to couples, or wether they would preffer a straight flat fee dependent on the amount of work that needed to go into it?
What do people think? If I offered a flat fee, I think this would have to worked out once I knew how big the wedding was goong to be, maybe have a sliding scale in view of cost and numbers of guests???
Would charging a % make it look like I would try and make the budget higher, so I got paid more???
I don't know......what do people think??

All thoughts are welcome.
Thank you xxxxx

Any advice would be welcome.

Hi,

I think a percentage is probably fairest - this means it wouldn't put people off at the lower end of the budget. I would imagine you'd need a minimum charge, though.

Good luck!

Most wedding planners charge a % rate, myself inc however you most certainly need to set a flat rate charge.
You can also have a flat fee running along side if the bridal party prefer.
List your fees per job for example,
finders fee for arranging, photography, flowers,DJ, etc
This is what most brides are going for at the moment its more appealing as they can budget there wedding better and know exaclty whats going where.
In the financial market at the moment every penny counts and people want to know exacly what there spending there money on etc.
hope this helps.
If you fancy a chat about this deeper contact me via my website and i will give you a call back or can chat on msn which ever you prefer.
All the best for you business.
