Couldn't believe it when I saw this, what with the constantly abandoning the children to go out partying with her new fella, the emotional blackmail she does towards the children - getting Junior to swear down the phone to their daddy, (and not to mention the snail incident which she seemed very proud of at the time!) she is the most undeserving mum around.
It seems that the world has gone mad. I should hope that she does not even come close to winning this, as it wouldn't mean anything to her, and would just be an ego boost and used as something to hold against Peter.

I wouldn't say she's the best mum around, but she's certainly not the worst I've seen. I must admit, I think she's done a sterling job with Harvey, especially during the first few years with no dad around, I thought she actually grew up a little those early years of his life.
I also have to admit, I actually like her. She says exactly what she thinks. She's not the best role model around and I don't particularly thing she should be up for Mum of the Year, but she's by no means the worst one around.
I'd like to see the celebrities go up against "normal" mums one year and see how many fair against us common folk. :D

KTHFB... the snail incident refers to when Junior found two snails and decided they were his new pets. Katie then picked one up and pretended to eat it and made Junior cry, and she found it hillarious! It was so cruel!
Personally I despise the woman - not so much because of the divorce, because I think Pete is a complete drip and I don't really like him much either, but I just think her morals and principles are all wrong. I do think Pete kept her on the straight and narrow and whilst they were together she was a wonderful mother but now she has gone completely off the rails and shouldn't even be nominated!

Me too Rachel .....she's a disgrace to motherhood, at the last count she had 3 nannies, one for each child, and when they were filming the Katie and Peter series, she kicked Harveys' out whilst the cameras were there - so she looked like mother Theresa!

A celebrity should be someone that has a talent, or intelligence, or a skill, or an ability, all of which should be above average and therefore should be admired by us mere mortals.
From what I've seen of Katie Price she has none of these things, and her 2 greatest assets are plastic pumped up and as false as she is.
But good heavens how the press and the celebrity impressed public love her. Perhaps someone could enlighten me as to what exactly she contributes to.... well anything.

I used to like her until she walked all over the man that was the best thing to ever happen to her. Now I think she's a bitch. The way she has tried to rub peter's nose in her new relationship is appalling and to stop him speaking to the kids in the way she has done is even worse.

Mallinda Massenger used to have something about her and had a bright bubbly personality that she made use of after she finished modelling. Linda Lusardi moved on to other things and always still seemed to be liked, but Jordan? :confused:

Did you parade yourself outside endless nightclubs half cut? Did you invite TV cameras and magazines to follow you around 24 hours a day. Did you prostitute yourself and your family to tabloids and the media? If you didn't then you can hardly compare your situation to hers.

and for your information, even though its none of your business, I left my wife for another man, and my kids and Ex had to put up with a lot of crap/rumours/inuendo as well as the break up of the family unit, all stirred up by nosey parkers and people after a bit of cheap titillation at the expense of us.
Yeah so what if she goes out partying, and making the most of what she's got, its what a lot of people do, what are you supposed to do after a divorce, stay at home reading womens weekly, and dress in beige and do crosswords for the rest of her life

I understand relationships break down and I guess being in the spotlight put a very hard strain on any marriage and if she cant be trusted then I think they are better off split up - For themself and the childrens sake.
What grinded me was that she just split up with the Dad of her kids and decided to go parading around on a "Look at me I'm single" attention spree instead of doing what any sane Mother would of done and stuck with her kids at a hard time like that. I bet they were so confused over the whole situation.
That snail incident was just plain cruel, I felt so sad for him after watching that, Why do it? It's playing up for the camera's.
There are a lot more people who deserve the whole "Mum of the Year" status but won't recieve it because they aren't in the spotlight and have camera's follwing them 24/7 which is quite sad really.
She gets help from a lot of people and I wouldn't class her as being motherly much at all.
I really feel for Peter Andre as he being made to watch this pathetic show of her new Boyfriend, I also feel for them kids too, I cant imagine what teasing goes on in their school about his new dad being a mum.

These people pay lots of money to full-time nannies, that are even around and working whilst the parents are..hardly difficult parenting.
Quite how some no-mark z-list celeb gets nominated for mum of the year or why this award even exists is beyond me..I wouldn't mind if 'real' mums were nominated. This type of award sums up all that is wrong with society
