Being the sentimental type, I Googled today, looking for Crazy Crater Critters - a plastic toy my mates and I collected back in the 70's from inside Kellogg's cereal boxes. I can't imagine there's anyone who remembers Crazy Crater Critters on here - it's just one of those silly things the brain chooses to remember that becomes a symbol of childhood.
Well, the internet being what it is, I found a site dedicated to stoopid plastic toys from cereals boxes (now that's a geeky site). Australian, sadly, but here it is. (http://www.cratercritters.com/)
And here, in all their glory, are my Crazy Crater Critters. (http://www.cratercritters.com/page2.html) They're now priced at $45 each.
In fact, I'm so pleased with my discovery, I feel the need for a new critter avatar to celebrate.
Interesting site there Ant.
If you go on there and click on 'Wacky Walkers' and take a look at the Wheelie Twins at the top,.......... what are they up to?
Just look at his face.:suspect:
Yup. Looks like they're doin' it. The girl being done looks like one of the pinheads from the 1932 "Freaks" film (or the Ramones album). Microcephiles, to give them their medical name. Ah, it's grand to Google.

Are we looking at a time when the plastic freebies in cereal boxes become much wanted collectors items? Scary thought. When I was a lad everything had 'cigarette cards' in for people to collect. Being the sad so and so that I am I collected loads of these and they now occupy a place of honour somewhere in a box in the bottom of a cupboard somewhere.
Plastic toys! Ah! The number of people who will purposely go for a box of cereal just because it contains a free piece of plastic to clog the vacuum cleaner. Theres nowt as strange as folk.

I heard those crocodiles from Kinder surprise were collectables these days so you could be sitting on a fortune - well at least a couple of quid.
Do a search on the net for them and you may be surprised. LOL

Quaker Oats are still available in places. Never collected anything from the boxes as I remember.
What about those cereals where you save ten magic star tokens and then send off for a free gift? Hardly free as you have had to buy numerous boxes of the cereal you do not particularly like, and then paid postage (unless its freepost of course). Anxious wait for your set of magik pens to come through the post and 28 days later they arrive only to run out within five minutes of using them. Grrrr!
And now you can collect gifts for schools as well. What a gimmick!
