He taught me for a couple of years - technology in that horrible dark room at the back of the tech block. Think I mustered up a fuse tester and a keyring under his supervision. There wasn't one fuse tester in the class that worked - we were all too busy making jewellrey out of solder.

I also made a fuse tester in Mr Jordan's class which my Dad promptly threw away! Have to say that Mr Wainwright was much more memorable and much more of a charater...

Can anybody top Pinhead as form tutor???

Pinhead retired about 4 years ago, i think teaching finally cracked her after getting attacked by a cardboard sheep..

Ah, the good ol' days at school...

Mr Welsh (Geography) was in B5 ... my form teacher for GCSE years (86-88).
There was another Geography teacher, Ms Waterfall (good names for Geography teachers!), though can't remember which room she was in.

Mr Sanderson was head the year I started (1983), but retired after only a couple of years, to be replaced by Mr Smith, who was one of the deputy heads at the time. Seemed much friendlier when he was a deputy, but could still had a laugh with him as headmaster, especially when he told a group of my friends to find out a certain pub in London that was apparently 'very interesting' (called something like the Admiral Nelson). After spending ages trying to find it, and even asking a policeman for directions, they found it, only to be rather disappointed that it wasn't anything special... but full of men.
When returning after said school trip, they asked Mr Smith what was so interesting about the pub, and he ****** himself when he told them it was an famous gay pub! He couldn't believe they'd actually gone there.

Mr Upton (Chemistry) was one of the deputy heads, and seemed like a top bloke too. There was another Chemistry teacher who I had for A-Level, but for the life of me can't remember his name, odd because he had a very unusual first name - someone else may remember?

Mr Little was a new teacher I think, (who started around 1986-7?), who was one of the other deputy heads, then there was another new (female) teacher who started at the same time and was the other deputy, but can't remember her name.

Another English teacher, bit of a dragon, was head of 6th Form - but can't remember her name either!

Oh, and who remembers Mr Chisnell - the hippy? Was my form teacher for my first year, based in C9 iirc. Was big-haired and beardy, and in a band called something like the Dead Hedgehogs. He must have left after that year, as I don't remember seeing him after that.

Does anyone know Marion O'Connor from Silverdale circa 1967-1972? Would like to get in touch with her.
Mr Tocher Geography teacher - huge bloke who threatened to throw kids out of the window if they misbehaved - his classroom was on the first floor! Miss Nicholson who taught domestic science - sweet lady. Evil maths mistress who used to threaten boys with her stiletto heels!
