Hi my partner has the Sony A200 DSLR and it takes fantastic pictures. However I am looking for one that takes similar quality piccys and one that also fits into my handbag. The man in the currys shop said lumix had the best lense would you agree? I would be very grateful if you could recommend a camera for me up to £180

This ones a good model, 3 links given as price comparison for you.
I never recommend one model/brand above another, but for the price and quality, it's a good option, and woth consideration.
Hope it helps.

I believe Harrymac has a sony a300 which is slightly better specified than the a200 but has produced some absolutely stonking photographs with it. As you're probably aware the range has now been renumbered and the price ramped up quite considerably. If you are buying new this should be a bargaining point. In the meantime why not peruse Harrymac's previous posts for a masterclass in sony dslrs.

Thanks Gogetter I will have a look at those. I seem to remember the sony ones felt the best to hold in comparison to the lumix ones but if they produce a better picture id rather get one of those.

Corkneyfonz - Iv had a look at Harrymac's threads and love the pics of the spring tulips in particular.

Thanks fonz

Best advice from me, don't concentrate so much on the camera body as they all do just about the same thing as i have talked a little about in my pm to you, the newer range of the Sony's (320, 380) do the same job as the older ones (200, 300) it's all about marketing, so if you want to save yourself some pennies go for the older models.

By the way, Sony use the best glass (lense) Carl Zeiss, Vario sonnar (but not in the DT lense range), one of the reasons that i chose to invest in Sony.
Cheers, H.
