Hello
I have just brought two sweet potatos from different supermarkets but when I cut them up one is bright orange and the other is very white inside???

Has one gone off or have I picked up the wrong veg. They don't smell of much? They are both red on the outside- any ideas?

haha, let me come to your aid. the only way the potato is off is if it's very squashy just like any other potato. there is an orangey variety and a white variety of sweet potato and id pretty much guarantee you they'll both be fine. i've had both varieties, the difference is the soil type or country they were grown in. unless you've bought a yam by mistake - does look similar to the sweet potato and i think you'll like it anyway if it is a yam but yams have a very firm consistency. also if they're not smelly thats a good sign aswell they shouldn't :D

the white one has a few holes in it? Is Yam caribean food?

sounds like a yam. yes yam is caribbean food so is the sweet potato. aswell as other cultures.

thanks, i tried tried boiling the white veg alone and tastes sweet like but not the same as the orange sweet pot?????
