I appreciate that this is not strictly Sheffield based, but wondered if any of you guys saw it.

I thought that the wife and I were pretty security conscious, what with us shredding or burning sensitive information and never giving confidential details over the phone to folk that we don't know, but this really takes the buscuit.

Apparently it is possible for anyone to redirect anyone elses mail to wherever they wish. Surely this is wrong, shouldn't Royal Mail be taking precautions to validate that these requests are genuine?

I now await the forum <removed> accusing me of informing folk how to perpetrate this crime.

This kinda scared me, Knowing that i have bank statments and phone bills gas bill and other mail sent to me and someone can redirect that mail with out having to produce I.D.

I think that people sould be made more aware of this. If you post stops coming, get it checked to see if its not been re-directed with now you knowing.

That's the problem with Watchdog - 55 minutes of drivel but one or two essential bits of consumer info.

Watchdog actually infuriated me last week, so much that I think there should be a watchdog for Watchdog!

On one of their features they attacked Center Parcs for ... shock horror ... putting their prices up in school holidays! Oh, the humanity!

Fair enough, on one hand, they were saying that in school holidays they put their prices up as much as 300%, more than anyone else, but I was just thinking - so what? They're a company, they can charge whatever they like, if people don't like it don't pay it! That's how companies live and die.

They got some poor bloke from Center Parcs on and Anne Robinson 'grilled' him on the matter. All he kept saying was "we put our prices up in accordance with the demand, our customers are clearly satisfied and happy to pay what we charge, hence why we are fully booked every school holiday." Which is perfectly fair enough.

Then they had proper common members of the public on (you know the sort) moaning at him "You're pricing us out, us normal families can't afford it" - well go somewhere else then! Somewhere you can afford! Companies don't have a duty to set their prices to what you can afford, you morons. I'm sure you can't afford to go to New York for a week and stay in The Plaza, are you going to complain about them too!?

Unbelievable.
