They keep playing a jingly piano piece on Classic FM & I really like it, as the thread title suggests its by Radiohead & it's called No Surprises.
Question is - was it written as an instrumental piece or is this an adaptation of a song?
I think I'd like both if there's 2 versions...
It is an adaptation and was inthe charts some years ago.

OK Computer (the album this song is on) is a work of musical genius.
I like it so much I have two copies.
If you like No Surprises you should hear Exit Music For A Film from the Romeo and Juliet soundtrack.
Brilliant.

Totally!
This album changed my life forever.
The instrumental version might be from an album by Christopher O'Reilly called True Love Waits. (http://www.truelovewaits.cc/) (That's a guess because I've not heard the jingle).
Oh and by the way, the genius of this particular Radiohead song lies in the music and the lyrics...
"A heart that's full up like a landfill,
a job that slowly kills you,
bruises that won't heal.
You look so tired-unhappy,
bring down the government,
they don't, they don't speak for us.
I'll take a quiet life,
a handshake of carbon monoxide,
with no alarms and no surprises,
...Silent silence.
This is my final fit,
my final bellyache,
with no alarms and no surprises,
no alarms and no surprises, please.
Such a pretty house
and such a pretty garden...
However Thom York has still survived (no surprises there) to inflict more miserable music upon us................
