View Full Version : I've just got 2 kitties!!
Hello every1 14-10-2009, 20:40 Hi i've just got two male kittens one is 6 weeks old the other is 7 weeks. Different mothers but brought up together. Could someone please tell me how much they should be eating as they're on felix kitten pouches and according to the box between 1-2 pouches a day per kitten but they're on 3pouches plus kitten biscuits.
Is this normal???
Please help
:help:  :help:
Thanks
jonous101 14-10-2009, 20:44 in my experience, cats eat when they're hungry, they've got a lot of growing to do, start worrying if they get fat ;)
gina2007 14-10-2009, 20:51 Let them enjoy eating the amounts they want too. And dont forget what it says on the box are only 'guidelines', which are averages, and averages are calculated by say 100 cats, the average will eat x amount but there would have been some eating waaay more in that calculation. Dont worry too much, just worry when theyre really fat and can barely move :hihi:
And you cannot be serious in telling us you have new babies with no photos??!! Get them up... :D
xx
our new kitten (11 weeks ish) seems to eat constantly ... anything and everything.
Hello every1 14-10-2009, 21:37 Will put some pictures on when i find my lead for camera.
Thanks everyone for advice :D
Moonbird 14-10-2009, 21:53 I might be stating the obvious but have you wormed the kittens? they will eat a lot if they have worms and if they haven't been wormed enough most will have them...or they could just be greedy little devils :hihi:
HayleyJayne 14-10-2009, 22:07 We feed our cat (who is now 7 months) 2 pounches a day and biscuits and have done since we go him. Some days he eats more and some less, we just feed him accordingly. I would feed them a little less as they will let you know when they are hungry!!
Have fun with them!
gina2007 15-10-2009, 08:51 Just another one, IAMS state one small cup full a day should be enough for an adult cat with nothing else. Our 5yr old will eat half that amount and thats it, Our 1yr old will eat 3 full cup fulls + 2 tins of wet food a day. It varys, trust me! :hihi:
Ahem.. PICS :D
jester6881 15-10-2009, 08:55 We have always given ours biscuits - better for their teeth!
Enjoy the kitten times

They hadn't eaten all the dried though???
Thanks :)

wet food is made up of like 80percent water which is why it dosen full them enough i never feed mine meat dog and cats
All this talk of kittens! Don't forget to get them booked in for neutering, five and a half months, but definitely no later than six months. Otherwise you'll be posting about some more lovely new kits, but this time, lots of them!
Good luck with them all, nothing more lovely than little kits.
