Hi

Its that time of year again and policies for 4 of my 6 are up for renewal.

I know I cant move Rupert, Wilbur or Daisy but want to, if I can find a better deal, move Archy, Zak and Evangeline.

I have, so far, tried Direct Line, More Than, am with Halifax, Tesco, ASDA (astronomical), Marks and Spencer, Pet Plan, Happy Pets, Healthy Pets.

Any other suggestions at all please.

Thank you

Me and mine

Mine are with AXA. I know some companies use Axa as their u/w but ive found it cheaper to go direct to them. http://www.axa.co.uk/petinsurance/index.html

You should use petplan. They are more expensive but will cover your pets for life and wont exclude any illnesses like other insurance providers. I worked in a veterinary surgery and this provider was the only one that was recommended. My vet was also willing to just take the excess from the pet owner and claim the rest from petplan however he would not do it with the other providers. He made the owner pay all costs up front then make the owner claim back from the insurance.

Pet plan is more expensive but worth it ,you get what you pay for.
I am with e@l avoid them at all cost they take your money every month but take months to pay you out, they still owe me money from june and you can never get through to them on the phone.

Have been on the site, it looks good, just need to speak to them tomorrow now to find out a price.

To those kind enough to respond and suggest Pet Plan, I need to lower my insurance costs not add to them and to the poster who said that they worked at a vets and that said vets would only take the excess from the patient's owner then settle up with P P and mentioned that they would not do that with any other insurance company. Mine have been insured with NFU, Direct Line and More Than in the past and are currently with Halifax. All of these companies pay vets direct and any vets I use allow them to do.

A friend of mine had her dog insured with P P and for the first year of his life his policy was a reasonable £15 per month. However on renewal, and she had not claimed at all during the first year, the policy increased to £45 per month - that's too much of a hike and was never explained. I have also heard (barring the 2 comments posted here) nothing but negative comments about Pet Plan.

Thank you for the replies so far.
