Sorry about the vague title!

I've suddenly got lots of spare king size bedding and foam duvets I need to get rid of, I'm also a dressmaker with a bit of spare time on my hands at the moment.

What I'm wondering is if it would be more useful to whichever rescue places that need bedding (suggestions for that would be fab too as it sounds like the dog pound have plenty) for me to cut them down so that, instead of one huge quilt, they get four or six smaller dog or cat size cushions?

What a lovely thought Jozafeen!

I can't comment for other charities since I don't know their protocols, but I know that the answer from the Sheffield Cats Shelter would be 'thank you but no thank you' for bedding for the cats in the Shelter itself, as all of their bedding is made up of hard plastic beds and Vet Bed fleeces, which can all be washed daily.

Depending on your skills though (and if you're a dressmaker I would assume that your skills are better than mine!) it may actually raise more money for the charity by making beds and cushions and donating them for open days and fund raising stalls, rather than for donation to the charity themselves as bedding for their animals :)

On behalf of all of the charities, thank you for thinking of the animals :)
