Anyone remember Arbourthorne Community football club 1950/60s ?
Later in the early 1960s it was re named to Arbourthorne E A football club. I Was wondering if anyone could recollect who played for them. I have an old photo of the team and for some reason theres only ten players on the photo. My dad was manager in the 1950s up to around the middle 1960s.

Hi Wag50
My dad was from the Arbourthorne, Northern Ave to be exact. His name was Ron Duggan. He played football in the era that you mention, though I cant remember what the name of the club was. I am sure that he played for the Park and Arbourthorn club at one point, along with Frank (Sparrow) Charlesworth. His cousin Dougie Ibbotson would have played in the 60's as well.
I would be interested to see the photo that you have to see if he is on it, and whether I (or he) can recognise any one else.
What was your dads name by the way?
Hi loughborough
Thanks for your response.
Coincidence maybe, but my dads sister Lavinia married a John Duggan. My dads name was Charlie (Wag) Cambell. It wasnt a football club as in a working mens club. Their home ground was the Eastern Ave playing fields opposite the Eastern Ave pond and the community hut (thats long gone now).
Doesnt it always happen ?
I had the photo a couple weeks ago trying to figure out who the players were and now I cant find it anywhere. Its not far away and I'll send you a scan of it or put it on a webpage when I put my hands on it again.
