Ok, I'm sat at home when I hear banging and my 80 odd year old next door neighbour shouting 'no'
I call the police then think 'oh Lottie, you've over reacted'
The police come and my next door neighbour has been burgled.
We've had a tyre go missing recently from the side of the house (through the garden gate, down the path, round the side of the house).
Thought I'd let you know as this happened in the middle of the day and in the holidays when kids are at home.
If anyone else knows anything or has seen anyone hanging around the area of Crookesmoor you need to let CID know or tell me...
Thankyou!
(I feel so scared - right next door and all my doors were unlocked)
Thats bad news lotti, but I would'nt worry too much these vile little buggers have obviously targetted him due to his age and frail state..given the state of his house they may even have thought the property was vacant. I should think that they will be keeping a low profile till the next time, But keep your doors locked to be on the safe side, when we lived down there I had my purse nicked out of the kitchen whilst I was sat in the livingroom, because I had left the kitchen door open. I hope the old chap is O.K
Well, the police said they were targetting our houses because they are secluded, there's a high fence/wall in front of all the houses and you have to go around the side to get in so nobody will see anyone trying to get in.
Cowardy weak rotters picking on an 80 year old bloke who can't defend himself anyway.

Well at 4am on Wednesday I was woken by the sound of breaking glass. I looked out of my window to see 2 blokes jumping into a car with arms full of stuff, video etc. They'd smashed the living room window of a house across the road from mine and just jumped in and grabbed stuff. I managed to get the car reg but what's betting it was stolen anyway. I called the police just as they drove off so no idea if they caught them.
It shook me up and my son is now terrified. It's set off his OCD big time and is now constantly checking the doors and windows and won't be in a room alone at all.
These people are scum. I just don't know how they have the gall to do it and not care about the consequences.

It amazes me how many people live in goldfish bowls, and don't draw their curtains at night. If the intention is to show off all their expensive audio/TV equipment.....
I hate net curtains, but I wouldn't live without if it compromised security :(

do you live on Crookesmoor rd? That area is burgualry central.
hs been for a while. I've seen them in action and scared a few off. The ones at the top with the long steps tend to have a lookout at the bottom. give them some sh*t and they leave it.
