Has any-one got any old knowledge of this area? When I was going to work 50 years ago I used to get off the Rotherham bus at The Miners Arms on Meadowbank Rd. then walk down-hill, past the post-office, this led the Steel Inn and Habershons works. Sometimes I varied this route by going to Templeboro' and unnoficially slipping thro' Steel, Peach & Tozers (now Magna?) and crossing a lot of waste-land came to a canal and the into Habershons. Does any-one know if it's still possible to cross whatever's there now i.e. Holmes footbridge(if it's still there? over the railway and out onto Sheffield Rd. at Templeboro. Just an old codgers nostalgia trip whilst I can still walk. Many thanks.

Its some years ago but I remember walking over a bridge just past the Miners and following a path along the canal, past the sewage works:gag: and ending up at the Plumbers at Tinsley .

Thanks Malky, I shall have to weigh the walk up. I remember the Sewage works, particularly in the summer!. I hope you had time to refresh yourself in the Plumpers. It's strange how one topic leads to another. My wife of 55 years was born only a few yards from the Plumpers!. I'm also very proud that I've been associated with Tinsley in so many ways and continually do re-plays of my memories. The east-end IS Sheffield.

Get on the towpath at Tinsley and see where you end up, happy walking.
