Hi, I have not been on the forum for over a year. I have read through all posts since last being on and cannot find what I am looking for

I was brought up in attercliffe well Carbrook and went to carbrook school, I am now researching my family history and wondered if there was anyone out there who remembers the Middletons from Attercliffe cum Darnall as it was then.

I have researched back to Herbert Augustus Middleton 1834 - 1893 (originally from Leeds) who was my GrtGrtGrtGrt Grandad married a Sarah Ann ? 1839, however Sarah and their daughter also named Sarah seems to have disappeared after 1881. I can find all other siblings apart from these two mother and daughter.

My Maternal Granma was called Annie Middleton and lived on Melville Rd My mother and myself (including siblings) lived 19 Carltonville RD from 1968/69 when mother divorced Father until around 1976 when they pulled down the houses.

My Mothers name was Muriel Rose my Name Dawn Rose siblings are Elaine, Roger and Malcolm Smith, mother married twice.

I would love to hear from anyone who remembers.

Thanks guys I remember family living in or around broughton lane, My great aunt Lily lived in the woodyard at the bottom of Melville Rd.

My gran Annie Middleton married Harold Fisher they had three girls Dorreen, Muriel (Mother) and Beryl.

Grandfather died in the late 40's.

Had some funtimes "down cliffe" taking bottles back to the pub on the corner of Janson street opposite carbrook school "Lampool" then running round the back to get them back and return them again the following night.:hihi:
Until "grandad Jack Sharman" caught me.

My brother used to deliver papers for the shop and the grandaughter Sharon was my friend we used to learn to play the guitar together although I was never any good, like alot of other girls used to take babies out in their prams, wouldn't be allowed today.
