Elphi 24 28-07-2005, 18:14 hiya if you are going round Belek/Antalya region its better to take Euro's (or dollars). Last year took TCs and it was all euros so this year took euros. When i got there this year loads of prices were in dollars! absynthfairy 28-07-2005, 22:42 we went to Bodrum in May and found it to be really expensive compared to what friends had told it was a few years back. We took Lira and travellers cheques but were a bit shafted I think changing the cheques at our hotel... our money ran out after 4 days (£350) and we weren't particularly extravagant... We did find though that it didnt really matter HOW you paid - there were 3 prices for everything (lira £££ and euro)! Bad_Hair_Day 29-07-2005, 08:25 We were there last month. we took about £500 sterling (which we exchanged into Lira at the hotel), and £100 worth of Lira. Once we'd spent that we used the cash machines in the resort - it worked out cheaper and was quicker than messing around with travellers cheques. Prices are still pretty cheap adn all shops, bars and restaurants show english and turkish prices so you can pay with either. have a good holiday! absynthfairy 30-07-2005, 22:16 dont buy the sunglasses! My "chanel" ones broke before the holiday was over. My boyfriend's "Ray Bans" melted onto his ears whilst we were in Ephesus. Nice! mitziwillow 01-08-2005, 14:26 Thanks for to everyone who posted replies. I think I will take a bit of each just to be on the safe side. |
