I am trying to establish when the Empire Thatre was demolished. I have read on some of the threads that it was demolished in 1958/59, but Moss Theatres claim it was 1962/63. My own memory recalls it closing for business in 1959 (last pantomime - Christmas 1958) and being demolished a few years later. Anyone have any information.

The Empire Theatre closed on Saturday 2nd May 1959,
It was demolished in July of the same year.
