Hello!

Does anyone on here use Mobile Broadband? If so, what network? What's the coverage and speed like? Is it worth it?

Thanks.

Used to have it on the 3 network and kept loosing the connection quite regularly and it was realy slow, its not great could only download upto 3gig aswell anything over that i was charged for which happend often. It depends what your using it for anything other than browsing and sending email i dont think its worth it.

I have T-mobile at home,- you don't get anything like the speeds you're told you can get or which the machine says you are getting (and were city centre). The download limits can also be crippling.

Mobile Broadband is the poor relation to Fixed Broadband and would only be an option if you cant get a phone line.

Download rates are much lower than fixed line, very bursty and your location to a cell site has a high impact on what your actual download rates will be. Cells can dynamically change their coverage if they are busy. So one day you will have coverage, the next day none.

Download caps are very low, sometimes 1GB/month, with criminally high charges if you go above this.

Latency is very high (how long it takes data to get from your PC to the internet and back) This makes it useless for Gaming.

Also companies like t-mobile use hidden compression that cant be turned off on web page images which make sites look terrible.
