Our attic window is leaking and water is pouring through the roof and now down our bedroom wall. Worse than that the water now seems to have spread further than we had thought. The light bulb in the study has blown and there is water inside the light bulb.

Its very scary.

Get a bucket

put it under the light

If you can turn the lighting circuit off at the fuse box.

Try to redirect the water rather than letting it run down the wall. Can you fasten a towel under the window? This will soak up the water and when it becomes saturated the water will drip from it.....into a bucket!! Then phone a builder!!
