Found on the side of the road (riverdale road, S10). We felt so sorry for it but just didn't know what to do- is there anything we can do?

Hi there I’m not sure if you have a local bird sanctuary near by who would be willing to take him in and care for him? Diesel 03-10-2009, 18:43 No we were out walking and had nothing to transport it back home. He looked like he'd be pecked at near his eye- and eventually he walked but couldn't fly. Aww, it’s so sad to see them like this. When I go into Barnsley town centre, it’s rare that you pass a single pigeon that isn’t injured; usually the feet are really bad. **Hopefully** if this pigeon’s injury is near the eye only, he will be alright to fly / walk (I don't know how bad it looked though?). I very much doubt it, but please let us know if you happen to see him again tomorrow. I rescued a bird with a very badly torn wing last year. I used on old cardboard box lined with a towel, and caught her with another separate towel. Just thought I'd let you know incase you need to transport a bird to a sanctuary / the vets in the future. |
