I just saw alot of fire engines 'calmly' head towards Meadowhall. They werent going fast, no flashing lights or sirens despite the traffic.

Dont know about the fire brigade or ambulance, although police are on the Bus/Rail Stations at Meadowhall as part of a generaly increased presence.

Usually at times like this the Meadowhall body bag story starts to do the rounds as well

Assumption:
Last two attacks (or attempted) were on Thursdays...
Maybe 'they' (the powers that be) are not taking any chances with any national 'obvious targets'??????

Well the version I've heard which came from an ex workmates daughters ex boyfriend who worked at Meadowhall was that at meadowhall was a target of the IRA ( this was around the time they did manchester) and there were hundreds of bodybags stored at meadowhall ready for the diaster when it happened.
I've got no idea if it's true or not but a bomb the size of the one at manchester could have wiped out the tinsley viaduct, meadowhall, trains and some electrical power. It was seen as a high risk area.

Just another friend of a friend of a friends daughters dog who happened to over hear somebody in a public toilet saying they had heard it on the quiet that they had stored bodybags at Medderall.......the stench of bull****e was over powering.

As well as the usual concerns that a lot of emergency services in the area would mean a possible problem, I am thinking also along the lines of traffic.

Could be worth missing the place out tonight (yipee  shh...)

Going with anyone else always means waiting around forever and getting bored, which isn't fun.

Ok, I'm selfish I admit it....:D

The other story I've heard from another friend of a friend of a friends daughters dog who happened to over hear somebody in a public toilet saying they had heard it on the quiet that if Meadowhall didn't workout as a retail centre it could quite easily have been turned into a high tech prison based on some of the big American ones.

I *USED* to work at Meadowhell and they DID store body bags downstairs in the middle of the building.

They tried to tell ppl it was M+S clothing but it wasn't and yeh it was when the IRA stuff was going off.

surely if they going to store bodybags they would not do in the middle of the building where they probably wouldnt be able to get to them in the event of an attack????

I don't see the big deal about them storing body bags!!!! I would imagine that most places with a large public capacity might have these.

that doesn't automatically mean that they are gonna bag every third person that enters the building, does it??

We are all aware of the places that terrorists strike, ie busy, over crowded towns and shops etc, etc. For years people have been sayng it's Meadowhall next, but it has never happened and hopefully it never will. But it is only common sense that Meadowhall will have some sort of procedure and equipment if it should happen.

On the other hand they could just have been Burtons Suit Hire delivery that you have all seen/ heard about.
