i have it on mosts mornings from the beggining,i find very informative on current affairs and the weather forcast aswell as some good entertainment features, but why do they have to spoil it by having the most irritating bloke on the planet on the programme,keith soddin chegwin the bloke is an absoulte @rsehole and i would gladly slap him all over given the chance:rant: :rant: :rant:

My partner has GMTV on in the morning and it irritates me very much. It's so damn mindless! However, I must admit I have a soft spot for the TV guru Polly Hudson...

I agree with you about Chegwin, he's the most irritating person on telly (if you miss out Richard chuffin Madeley) but just in case you change your mind here's a little something to fetch up your breakfast.

What I hate about the morning programmes, especially that Fiona Phillips when she is interviewing, is that she never ever lets the person speak and always puts in negetive comments whatever the subject, especially when its a politician. So annoying. She's so rubbish. She never says anything positive.

Most of the ladeez are fine though

Seems that other people have had the same experience as me with GormlessMoronTV first thing in the morning. My wife used to insist on having it on after RI:SE finished on Channel 4 and the f*cking show drives me mad!

After more than a year of me swearing and cursing at the tv in the mornings I've finally managed to convince her that BBC Breakfast is the only choice for someone who has substances other than dead insects inside their skull.

I even pointed out that rather than get wound up at Fiona Philips, she can dislike Natasha Kaplunkski instead as she's the nearest you'll ever get to a bimbo on the BBC.

The factors that really browned me off about GMTV were as follows:

- Rather than report on real news issues they pander to the lowest common denominator and cover non-issues that worry chavs from coast to coast.

- When not comforting the chavs, they engage in stirring the pot with attempts to raise awareness of issues of which people are already aware...then fill up their own news bulletins with snippets of said rabble-rousing.

- They allow Keith Chegwin out of his secure unit and let him loose on the streets to annoy the general public and invade their homes.

- Fiona Philips being shown tapes of "proper journalists" such as Paxman and Dimbelby interviewing politicians and then aping them badly by attacking and pulling apart the most sane and logical of comments made by those unfortunate enough to find themselves the subject of her interviews.

- They allowed Fatty Holmes to show his smug face on the screen and make inane comments about Man United whilst disaster gripped the western world in the background.

Anyone else want to strangle Eamon Holmes when he was jabbering on about Anteaters and Aardvarks being the same thing on the basis that they both eat ants?

On the same grounds I put it to the forum that Eamon Holmes is a chimpanzee, on the grounds that both a chimp and the Irish tv presenter have eaten a banana at some time in the past and therefore are the same thing.

abdul my good friend,it comes on at 6am,most people start work at 8-9am:)

I find GMTV irritating because it has too many adverts and is obsessed with soaps, celebs and what's on TV.

A agree that the BBc is a bit po-faced, but at least it concentrates on proper news.

Even better is the Today Programme on Radio 4.

When I wake up,I dont want some stuufy git in a suit bringing doom and gloom.I want some good looking lady telling me how warm it is going to be.

And if you had a choice between Moira Stewart and Penny Smith,who would you choose.

I usually have BBC's 'Breakfast' on in the morning, but usually I'll read it, to avoid this drivel that they place upon us Carlton viewers.

It's merely a 'glossy' entertainment programme now, pity - it was somethign half-reasonable when it started in 1993 (after the licence was revoked from TV-AM).
