why do i pay tax's again ?:suspect:
shefflad 28-07-2005, 06:37 not been working for a few days another accident damaged the main traffic lights control box at that junction
cgksheff 28-07-2005, 07:42 It is easy for people to assume that the authorities are aware of faults or that some one else has reported it.
If you want action, please report these faults when you see them.
The direct number for traffic light faults and maintenance of traffic control equipment, traffic signals, signalled pedestrian crossings, variable message signs, traffic CCTV cameras is:
273 6666
these lights have been out for days as a previous poster has said, i did not have a problem going through them as everyone was being patient and taking it in turns,
I find it quicker to get throught that junction now with less build up off traffic. Traffic lights out!!
The junction is Sheffield Lane Top and Barnsley Road North.
I go through these lights every day & everyone is being really polite about it all, very heartwarming! & yes I agree-you can also get through alot quicker than when the lights are functioning:clap:
haven't studies shown that traffic flow is generally improved when sets of traffic lights are not functioning?
Internetowl 28-07-2005, 09:55 I was surprised how easy it was to get through last night in the rush hour - I feared the worse but it was all very civilised :)
Told you, ban all traffic lights!!
MissGobby 28-07-2005, 12:04 i went driving up there on monday whilst on my driving lesson, was really bad drivin on the crossroads with no traffic lights, scared me a bit, there was loads of traffic coming from all directions, i would have thought they would have sorted it out by now for goodness sake!

MOD: Thank you - the title has been altered so it's more informative :)

naughtyelf 28-07-2005, 23:55 oh joy lights still out that will be fun later on then on my way to work !
so really why do we pay tax's ?:loopy:
mind, there is at least the signs showing a slash through the traffic lights to make people aware they are out...
naughtyelf 29-07-2005, 09:48 anybody know if there still out ?
Ginger_Kitty 29-07-2005, 10:12 Yep, were still out when iwent through them at 10.30!! traffic is flowing much better then usual :)
Could all this be connected to the thread below.
I hope no accidents have occured.
I remember years ago crossing at these lights and green man had just lit up so naturally i started to cross , but nearly got run over as some idiot jumped the lights and if id not looked to my left while crossing , then i wouldnt be here today.
Police on Barnsley Road yesterday (thurs)
How long does it take to repair faulty traffic lights? referring to the junction at Lane Top with Elm Lane etc, these lights have been inoperable for several days now. I use the route every day to take my wife to work in Ecclesfield, and believe me, it's a bit dodgy at the moment in the area. I have seen workmen attending to them a couple of times, but the lights still don't work. I hope they are fixed before there is a serious accident up there, as it is a busy junction. So far, all the driver's I've seen (my-self included), have excercised utmost caution in negotiating the junction at the present time, but it only takes one idiot to go a little too fast. Of course such a thing could happen when the lights are working, but there is a much greater risk right now. Come on highways department. Get your act together
I was passing that junction on Sunday evening. Yes, the lights were still out.
You're all correct about the traffic flowing smoother, though.
As everyone else was patiently waiting for the road to clear before proceeding, I just put my foot down and went for it :D
Vroom vroom! (Sorry, Gran Turismo 4 on the brain  )
naughtyelf 02-08-2005, 10:11  they were still out monday night at ten o clock
seen quite a few people speeding throu if there still out today then that will be 9 days what a joke surprized local papers not said anything if you were hit by another driver i wonder if you could take court action agenst the council :heyhey:
Internetowl 02-08-2005, 10:14 you'd be better taking action against the driver that hit you.... still out last night - no queues either - people can be polite when they need to be...
