You know when you start saying a word all the time and you just keep putting it in every sentence, well at the moment everything is a giraffe( laugh) to me. But what trippin out of your gob?

I don't think I really have a word of the moment but I just wanted to take this opportunity to state that I am soooo fed up of the word chav and wish I didn't have to hear it ever again.

Thank you.

Well for your benefit, I won't say the word. But like many others, I wish I didn't have to see them ever again :)
EDIT: Oh, and my word of the moment is 'stupendously'.

Mine is 'ACCOLADATIONS' because a friend recently told me about a book that had very good 'ACCOLADATIONS' she had muddled up 'recommendations' and 'accolades' - I thought it was a great word:thumbsup:

Why shouldn't made-up words be acceptable? Lewis Carroll made up words all the time........

Jabberwocky

'Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe;
All mimsy were the borogoves,
And the mome raths outgrabe.

'Beware the Jabberwock, my son!
The jaws that bite, the claws that catch!
Beware the Jubjub bird, and shun
The frumious Bandersnatch!'

He took his vorpal sword in hand:
Long time the manxome foe he sought--
So rested he by the Tumtum tree,
And stood awhile in thought.

And as in uffish thought he stood,
The Jabberwock, with eyes of flame,
Came whiffling through the tulgey wood,
And burbled as it came!

One, two! One, two! And through and through
The vorpal blade went snicker-snack!
He left it dead, and with its head
He went galumphing back.

'And hast thou slain the Jabberwock?
Come to my arms, my beamish boy!
O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!'
He chortled in his joy.

'Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe;
All mimsy were the borogoves,
And the mome raths outgrabe.

Complete nonsense, and yet, it all makes sense!

I quite like my made-up word of the moment, which is frobble.

Ahhh, a derivative of the Glaswegian 'Bampot' or 'Barmpot' (I was never sure which coz of the accent :suspect: )
Where's our resident Glaswegian when we need her ;)

Where's our resident Glaswegian when we need her ;) I'd be pretty sure it's 'barmpot' as barm is the froth on distilling ale, hence balmy - mad. I'm sure they had a pot to put it in! I didn't know it was Glaswegian though, my mom used to say it. My mom used to say a lot of strange words, I think she made some of them up. Her favourite saying was "you are turning the house into a right pippy show" she meant that we were making a mess but I've since found out it is an archaic word for peep show!:D

Nong is an invented word by the late Spike Milligan, which he used to great effect in his seminal poem ......

On the Ning Nang Nong

On the Ning Nang Nong
Where the Cows go Bong!
and the monkeys all say BOO!
There's a Nong Nang Ning
Where the trees go Ping!
And the tea pots jibber jabber joo.
On the Nong Ning Nang
All the mice go Clang
And you just can't catch 'em when they do!
So its Ning Nang Nong
Cows go Bong!
Nong Nang Ning
Trees go ping
Nong Ning Nang
The mice go Clang
What a noisy place to belong
is the Ning Nang Ning Nang Nong!!

I seem to tack ish onto a lot of words these days and it's the perfect three letter answer to a question you can't satisfactorily answer

It's kinda descriptivish of a verbally lazyish person who doesn't want to commit to anything definitish........sortov!

For example:

'It's really boring that Jonny can't come out with us later

'It's really boring that my laptop doesn't work'
