Should I decide to have a complete nervous breakdown someday and want to live in a forest some place away from the madness of society, which forest/place I could go where I wouldnt get arrested or shot for squatting there? Or does such a place not exist?

Simple! Just claim asylum. Bob's your uncle. Everythings free.

I reckon theres bound to be somewhere in N Scotland that you could camp in for years before anyone realised you were there.

Couple of "alternative" friends of mine back in the day managed to live in the Peaks all summer.... they did get move on once or twice though.

I've always wanted to live in Sherwood Forest (or any forest for that matter)

I remember a tv program where someone built and environmental house in there.

I think you have to get special planning permission and authority from the council in order to live there.

And then the Council Tax department would notice, and send you a bill :(
