I saw a small article in one of the local papers, i think it was something to do with the regeneration of the Hillsborough area. There was mention of the need for a night club in Hillsborough. I personally think this would be a great idea and think that the place is crying out for somewhere to go when the pubs shut.

Then again i dont live in the heart of hillsborough so i would not be affected by noise, litter, pavement pizza, etc. Anyone else have any ideas...

Don't expect it to happen. It was a mammoth struggle to gain permission for the Deep End.

It was tried many years ago - there was the "Ozzy Owl" (part of the Wednesday Ground) which became "Christies" (Tony Christie was one of the partners). It folded pdq.

The only sensible place I can think for one is by the dog track / casino. But would that draw in the punters any more than lots of failed experiments out by the Arena?

Personally I think night clubs should be kept to the City Centre. Hillsborough is only a few minutes away from town by tram / taxi.

Well I don't live that far from the centre of Hillsborough same as alot of parents.

I have no desire to back a nightclub in the centre of Hillsborough - but where on earth would they put it anyway. I think Hillsborough for it's size has enough pubs. I think Hillsborough just needs a really good clean up - was nice to see The Shakey painted up!

Hillsborough is rough enough on a Friday and Saturday night after chuck out time as it is.... the area does NOT need any Nightclub.

If people want Nightclubs let them go down Attercliffe to Brannigans or down town to Roxy's etc.

I live not far from Hillsborough but hopefully will end up buying a house in boro and I would not want to see a nightclub. It is too small for this type of venue and would cause nothing but problems. The pubs that are there already are more than suitable.

What I would like to see in Hillsborough is a clean up and a new continental/ seats outside sort of cafe .

The bouncers would have to be very strict if there was a nightclub to be placed in Hillsbro'.. For those that know it, the 'Ball' down there is always full of your average 15 year old, cap wearing, sovereign (sp) ringed, little ***** thinking he/she is an adult because they have hold of a £1 watered down pint and got into a place where security is about as tight as Scrooge's wallet.. they'd all be trying to get into the nightclub and if successful, it would soon have a shocking reputation and would put people off of going.

Ah right I see.. Yeah I heard security is meant to be tighter.. so naturally I went down for a peek as I was passing through and saw many of the same faces, majority of which I knew were under 18... and don't even look 18!

I went down hillsborough Friday night as usual. I don't usually go in the Ball but I was with friends who were meeting some people in there. I didn't even finish my half of lager, it was terrible!!

I felt like standing on the door and saying "20p youth club entrance".

The atmosphere was awful aswell, young d1ck heads in their fake burberry caps giving you dead eye all the time. I quickly retreated back to the masons for a drink with ADULTS.

Yep, The last time I went in the ball there were plenty of people who looked underage. The Masons used to be the same years ago.

The Mason's has really been turned around. It's not full of kids anymore, the door staff are strict but fair and also very friendly. The decor is really nice and generally it's now a pleasant place to have a drink or two with friends.

I'll remember that and might give it a try next time I am venturing down Hillsborough. ;)
