Hi I'm from Treeton but I have a car so I can get to anywhere although I was hoping to find somewhere close ish. I've been part of 2 different amature dramatics societys but both no longer exist so I was wondering if anyone knows of any that are looking for new members.

Thanks

Laura

Hi Laura,

there are lots about, depending on what you are interested in. I am part of Midalnd Players:
www.midlandplayers.co.uk

we have cast our Autumn production but are always welcoming to anyone who wants to get involved and will cast the next production around Christmas. There are always jobs back stage etc too and you'd be welcome at a rehearsal if you just wanted to meet some of us and see how we work.

If you are under 30 and interested in musicals there's Splinters:

http://amdram.co.uk/groups/splinters-theatre-group/

they also have a facebook page

Southey do musicals once a year but seem to have a very active social side:

There's SUDS:

the company:

we tend to rehearse in Dore at whatever space we can find really so soemtimes in the city centre too. We perform at the University drama studio on Glossop Road, which is where SUDS and The Compnay also perform.

All the groups seem like really friendly groups from my experience, and we at Midland are very accepting of new folk!
