A bit more than your budget at £160 though, but I can definitly recommend it. 6.3Mp 4x optical zoom comes with battery charger, cables software and a 16mb xd card I just got some photos back and the quality is excellent, the camera itself has a ton of options. I chose my Cannon A30 because it can take additional lenses, which you would only expect to be able to do with something 4 times the price. It also takes AA batteries, so it's never me who misses half of an event coz my camera needs charging. Since I bought it I found I also like the photostitch facility, which is far more use than normal panoramic. They don't make this camera anymore, but these are examples of features to consider  Edit: and use the 'search' facility on here - this topic has been done to death ;) mjlacey21 27-07-2005, 11:19 I know nothing about cameras. Does anyone know any good ones for around £100-£150? Just want a good quality one for general photos. thanks KATIEB_23 27-07-2005, 13:16 YES YES YES! I just bought an Olympus Mju Mini last week, from jessops for £129.99 I researched it thoroughly on the web, and was very impressed with all the reviews. It's much cheaper at Jessops than anywhere else. It's TINY and beautifully designed, and the picture & video quality is fab. Here's a review: http://www.digicamreview.co.uk/olympus_mju_mini_digital_review.htm I found that out of all the ultra-mini cameras, this one is about half the price of the others. Jessops also price-matched the XD memory cards for me - all I did was printed out the web page where I'd found them cheapest online & they let me pay the same (so I saved about £5 postage & had it instantly!) Here's the link to the cheap XD cards: http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/products/index.html?action=c2hvd19wcm9kdWN0X292ZXJ2aWV3&product_uid=65169 Everyone who's seen it has gone "ooohh that's a lovely camera" and was very suprised at how cheap it was! If you have any other questions then let me know xx mjlacey21 27-07-2005, 13:59 Thanks that's dead helpful. Where is Jessops? It says Commercial Street and I can see on the map it's near Ponds Forge but whereabouts? the_rudeboy 27-07-2005, 14:29 I've got a Nikon Coolpix. Had it about a year & very impressed with it. One piece of advice that i was given when i was looking was to buy a camera made by a 'traditional' camera manufacturer (ie Canon, Nikon, Fuji) KATIEB_23 27-07-2005, 15:26 Originally posted by mjlacey21 Thanks that's dead helpful. Just next to No.1's Oriental Buffet. hj dary 27-07-2005, 16:02 We just bought a new camera. Ive been after a digital SLR for ages and finaly got one! (Olympus E300) The quailty of the pictures is fantastic and you go blow them up to poster size without loosing any of the quality. The down side though had to be the £700 price tag, which took a bit of explaining to Mrs Dary. I love my new toy!!! edit: Was going to take the camera to work with me today so I could take some nice landscape type pic's (play with it) but when I saw my job sheet I didnt bother as it looked as if I would be stuck in town all day. Then I got a call around 11 ish that sent me off to Matlock and the sat nav only went and sent me through the Chatsworth Estate !. It was beuatiful and I had left my toy at home. *sulks* |
