Hello,

I'm trying to write a document to justify some expenditure to migrate an old system which currently runs on Windows NT. This is aimed at non-technical staff so I need to really make it simple. I want to include that Windows NT is no longer supported by Microsoft, but cannot find a date to say when it actually went out of support. I don't suppose anyone on here knows, do they? Cheers - Brian.

About 2003 is when support ended, it moved onto Windows 2000, then Server 2003, and now Server 2008

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_NT_4.0#Service_Packs The Wikipedia page seem to indicate it was around 2004?

NT 4.0 seems to have some major security flaws - that alone would convince me to upgrade. Of course I'm on 64bit Vista.....

If you want to save the company some money, and a more secure system, big blue were doing free fag packet costings to migrate to Linux at least cost - contact them.
