Did anybody watch this?

I was in complete awe throughout, the bravery of these lads astounded me.

How postive the one who lost three of his limbs were, it was inspiring. We moan about stupid things but it puts it into perspective when you see him with only an arm left saying, "oh, well, im just gonna get on with it".

And the irish chap who lost both legs and his eye sight, it was heart breaking to see him almost give up but get back up and keep trying.

I couldn't help but cry when they went to get their awards. So young, and lost so much, but still not giving up. I wish I could thank each one individually.

What did you all think?

I watched it, feeling completely inadequate for my problems in dealing with my disabilities.

It's also the sort of programme that I feel the need to watch sometimes, if only to remind myself why war is so wrong.

I completely agree, it was such a sad programme but I was compelled to watch and I too was struck by the resolve of them all, particularly the triple amputee - what an inspiration!

Particularly liked how he answered the question from the Psychologist who asked him how he was coping without his left arm:

"Well I didn't really use it much anyway..."!!:hihi:

Brilliant programme and well done to them all for their sacrifice and working so hard to overcome their disabilities.

I thought that too, "What about your left arm?" "Well, actually, i've not really thought about it".

This programme was so humbling. And being only 19 too. So young and lost so much already :(

I didn't watch it, as I missed it, but didn't want to see the reality of it anyway(selfish yes I know) but these lads/men do deserve our thoughts and thanks and a big bow (even though some will argue they are murderers and joined the army themselves etc....) they have so much to deal with out there, and more when they finally get home, if they make it of course still, I wish Mr useless Brown would go and serve out there instead of 'serving' his country by not protecting it and making all the wrong decisions!

Another thing that was evident was the positive effect on the morale the comradarie and team work had even in this situation. The ginger lad was about ready to give up until he had a home visit and joined some of his mates at the rehab centre - the change in his character was immense.

Who'd have thought having your mates crash into your wheelchair and take the ***** would do so much! Boys will be boys eh?!

I thought that! Made me giggle that bit.

One of those programmes that you really want to watch, but almost struggle to do so. I've never cried so much for ages - they are just young lads and having to deal with all that is awe inspiring. One of my lads mates is out to Afghanistan in March next year - same age as the lads that were shown last night - what a brave kid for even going.

I take my hat off to all of them out there, and wish every one of them well and good luck.
