Oh no! :(

Is there any real chance of me being able to find them and catch them if they've already moved on?? Will take me a while to get there as I'm in my pj's so will need to get dressed and am a 10 min drive from Loxley I think...

If there's no one closer to take a look I can go but honestly - not that good with cats and not sure how I'd go about finding them!

apparently they thought they found them but it was an adult cat asleep in the hedge!

Very odd as HM says it's really, really quiet and when they listen they can't hear anything - at such a young age you'd think they'd be crying.

HM suggested it's possible someone else on the road has taken them in, who knows?

HM, LM and Jules are there last time I spoke to them and HM said he'd let me know if they found them or when they were ready to give up.

sezbetz
23-09-2009, 22:05

We're home-there was no sign of them. :( Unfortunately haddock has got nine hours of work followed by 3 and a half of college tomorrow, and I have Uni too, so staying there when we obviously weren't getting anywhere was a bit pointless. Bless them, feel bad for leaving but we were just hitting dead ends.

So embarassing, there was one lady and every time we walked past her house she looked more and more suspicious, we looked like three robbers, minus the stripy shirts :hihi: I went to the van in my winnie the pooh dressing gown that's huge and fleecy but I didn't dare wear it to look for them even though I was chilly-scrabbling under hedges with a poor excuse for a torch is bad enough without being dressed in Disney to boot :hihi:

I'm laughing, but I feel so bad for leaving without finding them-we're hoping that someone on the street has found them and taken them in. Maybe if someone could have a look in the morning when it gets light? Could do with finding them asap, as they are supposedly so young, and it's coldish tonight too-also it's more acceptable to knock on doors in the morning as opposed to this time of night! Really really hope they are ok, and big thanks to Jules (and Arthur!) for lending a hand too.

I'm going to CATS today and will go and look on my way through, and talk to people. I'll leave my phone no. with neighbours in case they see them. Poor mites. They have little chance of survival if they're not taken in by people who have knowledge of such young kits. Wonder where the mum is?? Why people still don't neuter is beyond me.

Lol, it's great innit!! I was thinking, would it be worth getting some leaflets printed off giving advice re cheap vouchers for cat neutering and someone's number, just to put through the doors on that road? If we can get it into the hands of the woman whose fella made her put the kittens outside, she might do something about her cat. And if she did go and fetch the kittens back, she might be desperate for someone to contact that will take them for her.

I hope someone did take them in. I don't know where the age of them came from, but three weeks is very young for kittens to be away from their mum/siblings. Perhaps they were a bit older?

Hopefully if they were outside last night, they were somewhere warm and safe and someone will find them this morning. Someone gardening or something.

Good idea Joey about the leaflet - was thinking on the same lines. Will think about it some more but got a full day just now. On my way across the city in half an hour xxIt was direct from a family member she phoned for RSPCA number but by time they decided to go would have been a waist of time and going on responce of those think was 10 week old ferrets jedi has now got just because they didnt have anywere for them asked peak vets to to sleep good on peaks for contacting jedi.Theres been no further siteting.
When it kicked of she did here a couple having a row and heard one say if you dont get rid of them i will it was after this she heard then spotted um.When she phoned she said she had nothing to hold them in so i said just grab them and ill sort somthing out but at this point was when they had gone from site so fingers crossed a passer by picked them up or the other parter having the row come back to collect them.No idea if this was related to the couple but seems a bit strange to happen at the same time.

Thanks for that Terminator. What a story! Have been up twice today. Seen nothing and those I spoke to have seen nothing either. However, it is a nice area and normally I don't believe in fairy stories, but hope that someone will take care of them. I also know that there is a lady on the road facing the road in question who has lots of cats so maybe she's got involved. If your family member hears anything give her my mobile no. which I will pm you love and I'll go and collect them. She need only put the kits in a bedroom until I get there. Thanks love x

really gutted now. was hoping it was just a wild good chase and had been taken in......

Terminator , I passed the details you gave to the Centre today on to the Rspca Inspectors. It had struck a chord in my head as I knew Inspectors are involved with a household very close by.So don't worry the info WAS passed on -These people are sick and need to be stopped

If sightings are confirmed Term, am sure we can get a trapping team up there. It's what to do with the kits if we trap them. Perhaps some kind soul may be able to foster (permanently!). On the positive side, it's really good that we can all work together to try and help these little souls. x

I have room at the moment, but it would be as a fosterer, not a forever mum I'm afraid. If I kept any more I wouldn't be able to foster any kits, and I can't give that up :o

Not wanting to be morbid or defeatist but to be honest I doubt that any of the kits have survived, and now the cold weather is here well.... I do hope that I am wrong and I hope that people will still keep a look out, some good news on this would be lovely.
