Is it an "all in one" printer? ie scanner copier and printer together? If so can you copy a document OK?

Go to "start" on your pc,up to "settings" and across to "printers and faxes",click that, does your printer appear in the box? If so,right click on it,select properties and do a self test..does that print?

Ah OK..it's obviously a setting somewhere on you PC...you could try this..I've known it to work before..
Go to My Computer, right click & select Properties. Choose the Advanced panel. Click the first Settings button, in the Performance Section. Choose the Data Execution Prevention panel. Choose the first radio button, "Turn on DEP for essential Windows programs and services only", not the second one "Turn on DEP for all "....and then try a print..did you load all the HP software that came with the printer? Can you print a test page from that?

Or another to try is go to the printer properties by right clicking the printer icon on Printer & Faxes,go to Advanced Options and select the option that reads "Print Directly to the Printer." this works sometimes also...

Well at least it'll pass 10 minutes on for you when you get home :) Has this printer ever worked on this machine?

When i click the first setting button there is no Choose the Data Execution Prevention panel .and try as much as i can i canot find it.
the print directly to printer has been exicuted and that has not rectified it.
