After keeping poultry for over thirty years I have never come across this before. Earlier this year I was given a young Wellsummer cock, he is now five months old. He,s a big lad, fully grown and fully feathered and yet he hasnt attemped to crow. The shed he,s in with his four girls is about eight foot from my bedroom window and as yet,Ive not heard a thing. In the the day he runs free range with the hens and still doesnt make a noise. The hens he,s with tend to stick together and ignore him so Im wondering wether to put him with my twenty rescued x battery hens and give them all a treat. Has anybody come across this before?

i wish mine was quiet!! he starts between 4-6am and is still going at 6pm.
some days he does it all day and others you dont hear a "cock" let a lone a "doodledo"
it can be anything from 5-50 times a day depends on his mood.

i would like to rehome (exchange for female) him as i live in a close residential area and dont wish to upset anyone that lives near.

i would swap for your male with no voice. ....... he is a leg horn i belive and stunning looking hes approx 6 months old.. pm if you would like photos
