View Full Version : Whats the demand for old vinyl LP's?

I have around 50 vinyl LP's mostly bought in the 60's and 70's. Four by the Beatles, 'Aftermath' by the Stones, Kinks, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee, Don Williams, Cliff and the Shadows, ELO and others. I'd guess I might get a quid for each (on a good day) and the postage would cost me more than that. I wondered if any forummers have recent experience of shifting these old records. If I had a big house with a music room, the sleeves would go well on the wall. I could dump them in a charity shop but I feel the records are part of my history and am reluctant to give them away. Any collectors out there? Give me £30 for the lot - buyer collects.

Depends on how old, how rare and the condition mostly. I sold some of mine for lots of money, but they were first pressings from the late 60s, of a rare artist in his lifetime and were in mint condition.

Please don't try to sell them on the main forum- we've got a classifieds section for selling.

Thirty quid for the lot sounds low, given that your Beatles ones alone will probably be worth more than that each.

If you're reluctant to give them away then don't! :)

I'd try selling the beatles ones on ebay, cos you can get a fair price if the right people see them
