We're currently fostering Rain Rescue's Rosco, a lovely lurcher.

He's smooth haired, about Greyhound size, is OK with cats, loves children and is very laid back.

He has a problem with his leg, so he cannot be taken on long walks. He would just been someone to feed him, keep an eye on him and give him as much attention as they can give! (He loves attention!).

I can drop him off anywhere within reasonable distance in the morning (about 9ish) and collect him early in the evening (6-8ish?). He'll have his crate with him, he's happy in his crate for a couple of hours at a time, I'd certainly say he should be in his crate unless he's supervised, simply because he does like to investigate EVERYTHING!

When he came to us, he was very nervous and quiet, but he's really come out of his shell in the last two weeks and is a funny character!

Any questions, please PM me or post on this thread.

Thanks!

Looks like we're sorted already :) Got somebody coming to sit with him for a few hours in the day, so he doesn't even have to bother settling into somewhere new!

He will be pleased!

Thanks for the offer seadog :)

Yep, bring a DVD (or look through ours), some popcorn and watch a film or something with Rosco asleep on your lap (yes, he's the size of a Greyhound, but he will want to be on your lap!). He thinks he's Pippa's size or something!

oh thanks everyone - old Rosco would quite happily be 'rent a dog' and travel around everyone giving visitation rights.
Thanks cuddly cats for your kind offer, and Seadog - I thought he would be safe with you if need be.

Moonbird - YOU MISSED OUT - you wouldve loved him.
Have a good hols Rosco and be careful with that leg.

Story of my life, my girls would have loved him and even Durham so long as he isn't pushy, I do find that sight hounds recognise and like their own kind its really sweet.

Thanks for all the offers everyone :)

Moonbird - He's certainly not pushy, he's quite submissive when it comes to other dogs. Once his leg is back in order, he will have to go a walk with your pack!

He's at the vet's now having his leg X-Rayed at anything done that needs to be done, so got everything crossed he's OK!

Aww he sounds a smasher doesn't he :)
Good luck at the vets my fingers are well and truly crossed, I have told the girls about him and they can't wait to meet him, they say they have lots of tricks to teach him, I'm not sure what they mean  :hihi:

Wouldn't include dragging a certain someone across the park by their ankle would it? ;)

Just heard from the vet that he's had a small piece of bone removed that would have limited his leg movement and he's awake and should hopefully be coming home later :D

Hope he's feeling ok tonight Andy- let me know how u go.

I think actually it was A LARGE piece of bone left in the poor boys leg. Its awful and very upsetting to think that this boy has been in pain for almost a month now (not under our care I hasten to add)

The bill is just over £450 and thats with a huge discount given by the vets for us. So, we best get his pityful appeal rolling and see if he can earn his keep bless him.

give him a cuddle on the sofa from me (no doubt he's managed to get up on it)

Who left the piece of bone in it? I thought that he was operated on before

You know him too well! I'm shattered now though, so sofa and toblerone time (picking up from where we left off 2 hours ago :hihi: ) then bed methinks! He's a whingiy as hell but the welcome he gave us when we picked him up from the vets would've brought a tear to your eye!
