my sister noticed a x staffy roaming round near her massonett at gleadless about 2wks ago, she has rung all the obviouse places to find out if any dogs have been reported missing but has had no luck. the problem she has now is that she took the dog in as it was very thin and she was going to keep her, but her next door neighbour has reported my sister to council and has 1wk to find the dog a new home. the dog is a bitch, white & tan in colour very soft and giddy, great with other animals and children.
what im asking is if there is anything else my sister can do to find this dogs owner or new home.

Has she contacted the dog warden to see if anyone has reported her missing? the thing is that she mustn't re-home the dog without filling in a form from the DW, she will then have to keep the dog for 28 days to give the owner a chance to claim the dog, she is then free to either keep or re-home her.
I guess really then that the dog should go with the DW if your Sister can't do this.

yes she rang dw but she hasnt mentioned anything about a form, she has a wk before the council take action but doesnt want to give the dog the dw because she thinks they will put her to sleep if the owners dont turn up,she has becomr attatched to this dog put cant keep her as she lives in a top floor massonett and a neighbour has reported her to council.
