TylerXIII 21-09-2009, 19:43 I... Couldn't... Stand... It... I don't think it did the books anywhere near the justice they deserved and didn't think it made good tv either. I'm a fan of David Peace (the author of the Red Riding Quartet - of which the TV programmes were based) and I can't see how he'd be happy with how they turned out small_hall 22-09-2009, 09:23 I... When I read up on it I learned that there were 4 books but for some reason C4 decided to make just 3 episodes (skipping 'book 3' and merging bits of it into 'book 4')... which was a big mistake in my opinion. Even as someone who never read the books, it felt quite obvious watching the last episode, that a big chunk had been missed out & 'washed over' like they ran out of time & coudn't be bothered! Such a shame because 90% of it was brilliant. It certainly makes you want to go read the books though. TylerXIII 22-09-2009, 10:53 i didn't realise they were books as well .... *goes to check them out* the books are much darker and very hard work but totally worth it, they're called 1974, 1977, 1980 and 1983. Waterstones should have loads :) small_hall 23-09-2009, 11:03 the books are much darker and very hard work but totally worth it, they're called 1974, 1977, 1980 and 1983.
