So there I was posting on another thread....and I clicked on a linky which took me to a Lee Mack sketch....now I have never heard of him before and I laughed....and as you do afterwards on YouTube I clicked on other associated links in the box at the side.

I came across this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dhkm6sgPdtk).....well I haven't laughed so much for ages.

I read through the comments hoping to find out who he is only to find posts from Americans who clearly don't understand the wit of irony.

If you know who he is please let me know....would love to hear more of his stuff :D

That is Rhod Gilbert

He has a weekly radio show on Radio Wales and you can download his podcast via itunes (it can be a bit hit and miss to be honest as its a daytime radio show but its worth getting)

His show last year at City Hall was brilliant, and he is doing his new show at City Hall on October 4th.

Hello..
He is really very funny and fabulous. I think this is most funny stand up comedy I have ever seen really. This video made me so laugh and I could not even control my laugh. Is he Rhod Gilbert? Thank you very much for sharing this funny video with us. I think you have done a great job at least for me.

I thought it was at the Lyceum?

I was going to go and get two tickets to see him at the weekend but my bank balance says no.

Reading through your thread you now have the answer and I just wanted to add that this video was the funniest stand up I had ever seen until I saw Greg Davies and the Library theatre last Thursday I have never laughed so hard in my life.

This comment reminded me of an article Simon Pegg did for The Guardian, where he discussed that old "Americans don't get irony" bit. A good read.

Americans can fully appreciate irony. They just don't feel entirely comfortable using it on each other, in case it causes damage. A bit like how we feel about guns.

:hihi: Love it!
