View Full Version : My little Yorkie Holly Died this morning.
My little girl died this morning. I thought i knew what i was going to do when it happened, but now i'm so confused. I decided that i was going to have her cremated but now it's happened i don't know if i want to bury her now. i can't stop crying. she looks so peaceful on her blanket with her fav toy, i feel like i can't let her go.I know i have to in my heart and i take comfort in that I know she's not suffering anymore. But the pain is heartbreaking, But it's sunday the vets are closed what can i do.
awwwwwww misch so sorry hun i know how you feel i lost 2 last year do what your heart feels and think of all the good times xxxxx

Moonbird 20-09-2009, 14:31 So sorry to hear about your little dog it really is heartbreaking I know just how you feel having been there so many times...why do these things have to happen on a Sunday
I agree with Amyrach do what feels right, before you bury her though think if you will be staying where you live as you may feel bad leaving her behind.
I really feel for you, I hope that you soon feel better after arrangements have been made and carried out xx

Hi Misch,
So sorry to hear about your loss. I know exactly what you’re going through. It is exactly 6 months today since we lost our girl. I saw that you mentioned that you might want your Holly cremating – this is what we decided too. My dog passed away on a weekend and we used Sheffield Pet Crematorium, so they may be able to help you today.
The man who runs the cremation service is John Walsh and I’ve typed his contact details below if this is what you decide you want to do. He collects your pet from home (if you wish, or you can take her through).
Here’s the details:
Sheffield Pet Crematorium
Office Number: 0114 230 1122
Mobile number: 07736005151 (John Walsh)
If the office is engaged, I’d keep trying the mobile – he can be very busy on a weekend, but you should be able to get through.
Best wishes at this sad time x
FlowerPot87 20-09-2009, 15:22 Just forgot to mention that Sheffield Pet Crematorium are the only ones in the area that are APPCC registered – meaning that the company is accredited and has undergone inspections of their high standards.
If you decide to use a cremation service through your vets, I’d make sure that they are APPCC registered. You can check this quickly and easily on the link below:
http://www.appcc.org.uk/list.htm
Sheffield Pet Crematorium also specialize in ‘individual’ cremations of pets and this is one of the reasons why we used this service.
So sorry to hear about holly, hope you will feel better when you get things sorted but just remeber cause she has gone in body she will always live in your heart
DON'T GRIEVE TOO LONG
Don't grieve too long for now I'm free
I've followed the path God set for me
I ran to Him when I heard His call
I swished my tail and left it all.
I could not stay another day
To bark, to love, to romp or play
Games left unplayed must stay that way
I found such peace, it made my day.
My parting has left you with a void
Please fill it with remembered joy
A friendship shared, your laugh, a kiss
Oh yes, these things I too shall miss.
Be not burdened with times of sorrow
I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow
My life's been full, you've given so much
Your time, your love and gentle touch.
Perhaps my time seemed all too brief
Don't lengthen it now with undue grief
Lift up your head and share with me
God wanted me, He set me free!

lemongrass 20-09-2009, 17:33 Misch, my thoughts are with you at this sad time. Shed a few tears myself. Hope you are ok.
Thank you all for your kind message. My other dog Lucy holly's sister doesn't know what to do with herself. As she knew something was wrong i took her into the bedroom where holly resting to let her see, she tried nudging holly to wake her up, when that didn't work she pawed her which was so sad.
P.s Seadog thank you for your poem it was beautiful.
lemongrass 20-09-2009, 17:46 That is so sad. I do think that dogs can grieve, I lost one of my beloved dogs three years ago and even now my two jump up and run to the door looking for him if his name is mentioned.

Just got back from vets where we have taken holly to stay overnight. Until her cremation tomorrow, when we will be there for her last journey. Once again thanks to all that have replied.
