My mate's lad has been assulted by 4 cowardly chavs.

Outside the chippy near the Corporation Night Club.
Saturday night (Sunday morning) 23rd JULY approx 01:50 am.

Initially one of the chavs nicked his hat, & when he tried to retrieve it they jumped him, kicking him to the floor & stamping his head.

His girlfriend witnessed this dispicable unprovoked assault, but did anyone else?

Does anyone know who these scumbags are?

Please pm me with any info.

The lad is OK now & somewhat bruised.
But it could have been much worse.

 Cheers

Might be worthwhile contacting the council and ask if there's CCTV in that area?

Scumbags. Glad he's ok

You sure it was Chavs? Isnt it normally goths and moshers around Corp at that time?

 what's a mosher?

The Police are involved & CCTV is being investigated, but it would help no end if we could identify a person or persons in the meantime.

my mates got jumped last wednesday outside the chippy too... though the people who got my mates were coloured and again it was unprovoked.

two of my mates were left unconcious and had to be ambulanced to hospital, where one was told of a broken collar bone/burst vein to the eye (from repeated kicks to the head) and the other broken ribs and badly bruised.

in reply to wether its chavs or moshers
yes moshers etc are around there saturdays but we drink nearby and on more than 1 occassion we have seen the hooligan element walking down from the devonshire green area but funnily enough never wearing mosher or goth gear always the baseball cap brigade complete with cans in hand im not saying that some of the young moshers might be unrully but a lot of the trouble is caused by others in the area then people see the goths etc and automatically think its them

I agree with the others. It sounds VERY iunlike the Corporation crowd TBH.

The chippy is on Division St and the Council has CCTV up there.

If it was around the Corporation though, that whole block has CCTV, The Corporation has is, The Devonshire Cat has it, and the Unite student accommodation has it. Further up, the Forum has it. If it was only Saturday they should all still have tapes.

I would have thought that the Police have already checked these venues thoug

no doubt there probably are bad moshers somewhere
but funnily enough it doesnt seem to be them that cause the problems around the country it seems in most cases (not all)that the favourite attire is the baseball cap or hoodie which is why so many goths etc get the blame cos they too wear hoodies

Totally agree with you there roger, never in my life have I witnessed goths/mosher/rockers causing trouble, I have however witnessed them being attacked and jeered by the towny/chav type...

Possibly, but not a foregone conclusion. A few months back a friend told me that when the police were investigating the murder of an OAP who was stabbed to death in her home for no reason, they didnt even bother to investigate nearby rubbish bins for the murder weapon before they were emptied.
