Anyone know somewhere in sheffield where I could take some German classes. I know a bit of the language but would like to improve it.

Sheffield College use to (and probably still do) offer German classes from beginners to advanced level. You'll need to contact the College to find out which evenings they run. The majority of classes start in September, so you'd have to ask whether it is too late to join or not (you say you already have some knowledge, so maybe you'd find it easy to catch up, if they let you). If it's too late, you'll have to see if they have any other classes beginning in the New Year.

Carsondaly - I live with 4 Germans on Abbeydale Rd, all of them are really lovely and haven't met any english people with any interest in speaking german. i'm sure that at least one of them would be more than happy to meet up with you and help you with whatever you need!

Very inexpensive, as I know at least one that would do it for beer alone! :D

Let me know if you want any of their email ads.

Hi carsondaly,

I'm an Austrian law student and will be studying in Sheffield for half a year, starting on 5th February. If you're interested in improving your knowledge of German (especially conversation) on a professional basis with a lot of fun, I'd be happy to help you out.

I propose a first meeting for free

Check it out

Alex

King Edward VII School on Glossop Road runs foreign language classes (including German) for adults in the evenings, which I have found really good. New classes start after Easter. The tel number is 229 6573.

i wouldn't mind improving my german - i'm pretty fluent as i lived there for 3 years but came back to england in 96' - wouldn't mind meeting up with some germans/austrians/swiss - mein deustch ist aber immer noch nicht slecht eigentlich, oder?!

(probably doesn't need both the aber and eigentlich in the same sentence?)
