View Full Version : Multi-screen Forza Motorsport 3..will you?
I've lately crawled from under my rock and noticed that Forza 3 for xbox 360 will offer a 'hidden' multiscreen game mode, provided you have (of course) 3 xboxes 360 (networked via LAN), 3 screens and 3 copies of the game at hand. A wheel/pedals setup wouldn't go amiss, either.
In that setup (eye-candy improbable example shown here) (http://media.techeblog.com/images/forza3video.jpg), the central screen will be the forward view, and each of the other 2 screns will provide forward-to-lateral point of view.
Weened on the likes of Atari's TX-1 (look it up, kids), I for one can't wait to very patiently build my own setup (from cheap 2nd hand 360 Arcades and 17" PC TFTs :D), and Santa's help been enlisted...
...will anyone else on here?
For the cost factor, I cant see it adding that much to the game IMO. Easier and cheaper to just jump in the car if you want a good driving experience.
Now apply this to COD MW2???
segasonic 14-09-2009, 15:11 Forza 2 also had this feature. If only I had the kit to try it. :)
Actually if I remeber right, Forza 2 can be played with four screens, the main three as above, and one acting as a rear view mirror. I'm sure the setup I saw had three massive TFT screens and one tiny one attached to the top part of the middle screen.
I always thought that Forza 2 had the option to use 6 screens for a more or less full 360 view.
Looking forward to Forza 3 anyway.
Considering I have friends with 360's (one friend has 4, another has 2) we could club together just to see what its like, and maybe post some pics.

For sure, it'd be great to have more games supporting the feature. Not sure about FPS, but IL-2 would be great, as well as a 360 re-hash of Steel Battalion
didn't Jason on the gadget show have a set up like this when he raced against a pro racer at silverstone? It was a good set up, but costly! Excellent game BTW, loving it.

Yeah, if I remember right the chair alone was about two and a half grand. Amazing setup but I don't think I'll have one anytime soon. :)
Zomoniac 30-11-2009, 12:20 They had this setup at Eurogamer Expo last month with a chair and wheel. Even though I'm good at Forza with a pad, I failed spectacularly, since I haven't used a wheel in years (my time round the 'ring in a Veyron was a good 20 seconds slower than I managed in an M5 using a pad the night before"). To get a decent experience out of it, rather than it being a gimmick, you'll need 3 big quality TVs, a racing chair and a Fanatec wheel, plus a decent dedicated sound rig. Probably a few grand's worth of stuff. If money's no object and you have half a room spare, great. If not, pointless. Certainly not worth saving up for, and I can't see it adding any benefit at all doing it with a pad and having a couple of 17" screens either side of a big TV, that wouldn't be immersive, it would just look silly.
