me and my partner want to get married next summer. we want something in the peaks as outside as possible - ideally a field where we can put a marque for the reception. im finding it really hard to find anything that isnt a big hotel or hall. does anyone have any advice or ideas??

There are other threads on this site which try to answer similar questions.
This site will help you find all licensed venues available:
http://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/marriages/theceremony/mvsearch.asp
Currently you can only get married (in England) inside a building although there are proposals that may change this in the next year or so. I think that Strix pointed out somewhere that you can do it out of doors in Scotland!
This means that if you have your heart set on an outdoor ceremony, you will have to tie the knot first at a licensed venue or registry office and then have some kind of blessing or confirmation ceremony at the location of your choice.
the thread CGK is thinking of (http://www.sheffieldforum.co.uk/showthread.php?s=&threadid=39334)
Edit: and not suitable for merging..... before you all start telling me off ;)
thanks for the link, sorry i wasnt thinking of actually the ceremony outside but just the reception. we didnt want to do the whole hotel reception thing and were looking at the idea of a barn somewhere or a marque in a field somewhere. thanks for the info
How about a parish hall? That's exactly what they were meant for

try to contact some of the tourist info offices in the peak district, they may have details.
one or two points to think about
check that you can get lorries in and out for a marquee to be delivered on
check that a traveling bar can get a licence for the site as some have tennated restrictions Ie owned by local estates who do not permit alcohol
check that caterers can and will supply in that area
ensure that power is availbale for all your requiremnts, lighting, fridges, heating, and entertainment
I am not trying to put you of it sounds a loveley idea, just trying to bump up some of the tecchnical issues that can be missed out amongst the white dresses, smart suits and table decorations
If you need more info about the power or a mobile disco that can and will work in a marquee, ( on iots own genrator if required) you can pm me or contact me on 07960862616.
