the greatest live band of all time are coming to sheffield!!!!! at the leadmill! they must be about 70 years old by now. songs about pothead pixies and teapot taxis and the best outfits you'll ever see, this is no serious prog band. i swear to god, my memory of seeing gong (though hazy) is that they were perhaps the best band i've ever seen live!!! and i've seen em all! i can't believe it. GONG ARE BACK!!!!!!! :D

Wow, blimey, I know someone who won't want to miss that. Got a link to anything about dates/tickets, or do I need to ring the Leadmill?

At least have a go at the right bit of the forum
I was playing Steve Hillage earlier too ....
Top news - though I'm probably more looking forward to seeing the Steve Hillage Band who are supporting! (it'll be a busy night for Steve Hillage...)

I'm not too sure how much of the classic early 70s line up is going to be playing apart from Daevid Allen & Steve Hillage - should still be top though...
I really, really need to try and make it to this.

"The highly anticipated forthcoming tour will reunite founding member Daevid Allen with former Gong members Steve Hillage, Gilli Smyth, Mike Howlett and Miquette Giraudy, plus Chris Taylor, Theo Travis and John McKenzie."
I'll be there too ... having last seen this approximate lineup in 1974 at the City Hall along with Hatfield & the North ('Virgin Crisis Tour') :hihi:

I stand corrected - though I've got a feeling I read somewhere that Mike Howlett isnt doing all the gigs.. still - should be a great night
