I've been thinking recently of looking into buying a chalet in the alps - probably austria or bavaria or maybe france. My speaking german will help the first two! Does anyone have any experience of this? I can imagine its a bit of a legal minefield - its hard enough buying in this country where one is fluent - but in a second language could be tricky.

If anyone has done this/thought about doing it, i'd be interested in any advice you could give me. Where to look, who to contact, how the house market works in other countries etc.

If I did do this it would be set up a business and work out there so its a big step!

Also if theres anyone out there who'd be interested in business partnerships pm me.

i think it's quite common in skiing areas, so i would think that companies exist to help you do this sort of thing, try googling it...

i may try that. Anyone got any thoughts? Or will i have to open my query to the world on google...
