View Full Version : Wasabi Sabi restaurant
greg cook 08-09-2009, 13:57 i went to wasabi sabi restaurant on london road on sunday and just got to say how impressed i was.
my dad took me and my sister for our birthday and it was amazing.
knife juggling, catching food in my mouth and fantastic food too.
i got to say its a bit expensive at nearly 30 quid per head but it is good and nice food if you go to the tappenyake part.
not a massive fan of sushi so not been to that side.
so yeah
just thought id throw that out there
:)
It is THE BEST place in Sheff, and there are loads of posts on here saying the same!!!!
It's a good fun night out. Was somewhat surprised to see their lower than average health inspection scores, but I like to live dangerously so it's not worried me too much!
ellielambert 08-09-2009, 14:55 I think it's one of the nicest restaurants in the city, it's a great place to go for a special occasion and the staff are always friendly. I couldn't recommend it enough.

thats cos they served the inspector some fish that wasn't cooked
ghetto_pony 09-09-2009, 21:29 went there last year and it was amaaaazing!
It's a brilliant place; never had bad food or a bad time there.
redrobbo 10-09-2009, 01:12 A friend took a party of us there earlier this year. I'd never eaten Japanese food before.
We all thought it was fantastic. Great food, great fun, great experience.
My friend paid for my partner and myself (it was the night before our civil partnership). I want to go back ... but am still trying to raise enough dosh! :)
Masquerade 10-09-2009, 12:37 just been on their website and looks like they've won quite a few awards.
haven't been for a while but hope to soon - their sushi/sashimi boat is rocks!

yah i'd agree with you. I've never heard any1 say bad things about the food or service there - only that its a little dear...in saying that all japanese places in uk are expensive, the food does take alot of effort and a lot of food is wasted i think
good for special occassions i think
Is this good for holding parties? I think so.. Many people also loves to eat with this kind of restaurant. Holding parties there is quite expensive but it's worthy. Just make sure that your visitors will enjoy the place and the food. It's fantastic.
Guitarist210 14-09-2009, 11:05 Has anyone tried Sakushi? I heard that it isnt as good as Wasabi Sabi, but budget is also an issue lol
I think wasabisabi is amazing!!! Since Sakushi changed their menu i would say they are on par. Your preference will definatley be with the environment and atmoshpere, for example sakushi can be a quiet sometimes but at wasabisabi its almost always busy.
I <333 eating at Wasabisabi! Walking distance frm the house too..A bit on the expensive side but worth it =)
midasman 19-10-2009, 16:46 Yum yum..... its very nice food

Excellent food, brilliant chef's who are entertainers too! All staff are polite and friendly. I've now been three times and enjoyed it EVERYTIME!!! Highly recommended. :)
Food and service is great. Def try this restaurant
rip OFF...over priced food!
rip OFF...over priced food!
You go to ANY restaurant in Sheffield or ANYWHERE and receive that kind of service - you'll be NOT paying any less. The food is cooked in front of you by entertaining chefs with a smile on their faces and ALL the staff are friendly too.
The food is delicious and yes expensive, but well worth it! :) to Wasabi Sabi!
urbanchick77 29-10-2009, 11:03 it's good...really good
urbanchick77 29-10-2009, 11:04 there is also a good sushi place on campo lane...expensive but tastey
greg cook 29-10-2009, 14:31 i dont know how you can call it a rip off, yeah its expensive but it takes them three years to learn how to become a tappenyake chef, which to me is pretty impressive. its bordering on being an art form.
and the service is amazing, we didnt have to ask for anything, they took care of us really well.
