Apparently it's 'netspeak' for something..........?

Apologies if it's rude!

Don't you mean ICT?

This stands for Information and Communications Technology and is a term widely used (although seldom defined) in the education sector.

Nah - it's in a message that someone has sent to me.

I think it's meant to be insulting and he said it was 'netspeak' and for me to check it out . He's not very bright so maybe it just doesn't make sense!

It was a new one on me, that's why I thought I'd ask.

Thanks anyway!

Have you tried to ask the person who sent you the message?

I have done now :)

If 124 forum people don't know the answer, then I figure it's not a commonly-recognised abbreviation!

The ITC used to be the company that viewers complained to regarding ITV and Channel Four's programming and advertising.

Probably changed to "Off" something.

Right well. I've received my answer as to what 'ITC' means in this context.

I do have to apologise for needlessly taxing the brain cells of those who have kindly responded to this thread. The message I received back to my request for clarification was, in its entirety:

"I see we are on a one sentence chat try a string a few words together.
I aint dislexic..
A neither are you !!
I stands for intelligent.
T stands for tantalising.
C stands for , You have a guess, a dont go for the OBVIOUS.it as 6 letters not 4!!!
You can tell me your name if you like??
Phill x"

Nuff said. Sorry. I do seem to attract weirdos sometimes. :(

And what a great job they did. Of course, as I was the representative for Sheffield and North Derbyshire I would think so.

It doesn't seem to exist in any 'netspeak' sites I've looked at but if someone tries to bamboozle you again, answer them in abreviations that don't mean anything to get your own back!

Only 6 letter word that comes to mind is cookie but maybe this person miscounted the number of letters.

Ermmmmm.... I meant, I think the six-letter word beginning with 'c' that is supposed to be describing my would-be suitor is 'clever'....
